What is community-based participatory research?

Community-based participatory research (CBPR) is a collaborative approach where researchers and community members partner to study issues that matter to the community.

In CBPR, community voices and lived experiences are central to every stage of the research process — from shaping the questions to sharing the findings — often through a Community Advisory Board.
